The Kingdom Heroes

What is a Paint-Your-Own kit?

Your hero arrives matte white, like a blank page, along with paints and a brush. From there it is entirely up to whoever is holding the brush. There is no correct version. A purple Abraham is a wonderful Abraham. Every hero ends up looking a little like the child who painted them, which is our favorite part.

What is the difference between Paint-Your-Own and Colorized?

Paint-Your-Own comes ready for you to bring to life, and it is the edition you can buy today. Colorized arrives already finished in full color, for when you would rather skip straight to the story. The Colorized editions are still in the workshop and are not for sale yet. Join the waitlist on any hero's page and we will tell you the moment they are ready.

How big are they?

Our Kingdom Heroes stand about 4 inches (10 cm) tall, which fits nicely in a small hand. The Jesus Keychain is smaller, about 2 inches (5 cm).

What are they made of?

They are 3D printed in durable PLA, a sturdy, lightweight plastic, right here in our workshop in Tampa, Florida. Each one is made one at a time.

What if my child paints it wrong?

There is no wrong. That is not us being polite, it is genuinely how the kits are made. If a color lands somewhere unexpected, let it dry completely and paint right over it. Half-painted heroes count too, and so do the ones who ended up with a surprising beard.

Do you take custom or bulk orders?

We would love to hear about it. Sunday school classes, VBS, baptism favors, church groups, whatever you have in mind. Email hello@happiestlion.com and we will figure it out together. One thing to know up front: custom and personalized pieces are made specifically for you, so they cannot come back for a change of mind. Defects and shipping damage are always covered.

Safety and Care

What age are these for?

We recommend ages 3 and up. Every one of our figures carries this warning, on the product page and on the box:

WARNING: CHOKING HAZARD — Small parts. Not for children under 3 yrs.

That is the wording the law prescribes, so we use it exactly, in the same words everywhere. Children under 3 tend to investigate the world by tasting it, and these are not for them.

For the youngest painters above that age, having an adult nearby helps. Mostly because it is more fun that way.

What kind of paint comes in the kit?

A water-based acrylic set made and sold for children's craft use, which is exactly why we chose it. Our supplier states it meets the usual non-toxicity standards for children's art materials. That is their statement rather than ours, and one day we would rather tell you it from our own independent testing. Until we can, we will not claim more than we know.

Either way, treat it like any craft paint. It will find the table, a sleeve, and occasionally a forehead. Put something down first, wash hands afterwards, and it is not meant to go anywhere near a mouth.

How do I look after a hero once it is painted?

Let the paint dry all the way through before it goes on a shelf or into a pocket, which usually means a few hours rather than a few minutes. After that, wipe it clean with a dry cloth.

Not dishwasher safe, and we would keep it out of the sink and the bath. PLA also softens in real heat, so a closed car on a Florida afternoon is the one place a hero should never spend the day.

My child broke it almost immediately.

It happens, and it is not the end of the world. Write and tell us what happened. We cannot promise a free replacement every time, but we would much rather hear from you than have you sitting there with a broken hero and no idea what to do.

Shipping and Delivery

How long until my order ships?

Most heroes are made to order, one at a time, so please allow 3 to 5 business days for yours to be made and packed before it ships. Larger or custom orders may take a little longer, and if so we will tell you rather than leave you wondering.

That is the making time. The carrier's own travel time comes after it, and your tracking will show you what that looks like once your hero is on the road.

Who do you ship with?

Within the United States, using a trusted carrier such as USPS, UPS, or another reliable service, chosen to get your order to you safely and affordably. You will receive a tracking number by email as soon as your order is on its way.

What does shipping cost?

Rates are calculated at checkout, based on your order and where it is going.

Do you ship internationally?

Not yet, though we would like to. For now we ship within the United States.

Why does it take a few days?

Because your hero does not exist yet when you order it. Someone starts printing it for you, then packs it by hand. It is slower than a warehouse, and it is the reason it feels like it came from somewhere.

If Something Goes Wrong in Transit

My order arrived damaged, or it is the wrong thing.

We are sorry, and we will fix it. Please look your order over when it arrives. If something is broken, faulty, or not what you ordered, email hello@happiestlion.com within 14 days with your order number and a photo. You can have a replacement or a refund, whichever you would rather. You do not need to make a case for it.

Keep the box and the packing material until it is sorted out. If a carrier claim turns out to be the right route, that is the evidence it rests on.

My tracking says delivered, but nothing is here.

Give it a day. Carriers sometimes scan a parcel as delivered a little before it actually lands, and a surprising number turn up with a neighbor, behind a gate, or at the back door. It is worth checking with anyone else in the house first.

If it still has not appeared, email hello@happiestlion.com with your order number and we will pick it up from there.

My order is lost, or the tracking has not moved in days.

Write to us at hello@happiestlion.com with your order number. We will pull up the tracking, work out where it stalled, and take it from there. Where a carrier claim is the right step, we file it, not you. Claims run on the carrier's timetable rather than ours, so we cannot promise you a date, but we will keep you posted rather than leaving you to chase a shipping company on your own.

Returns, Exchanges and Refunds

What is your return policy?

You have 30 days from the day your order arrives to request a return. Items need to come back unused and in their original packaging.

How do I start a return?

Email hello@happiestlion.com with your order number and what happened. We will reply with next steps and the return address. Please do not send anything back before contacting us, since a package that arrives unannounced is one we cannot match to an order. No interrogation required at any point.

Who pays return shipping?

If you are returning something by choice, such as a change of mind, return shipping is yours. If your order arrived damaged, defective, or incorrect, we cover it. You should never be out of pocket because we got something wrong.

Can I return a Paint-Your-Own kit?

Once a kit has been painted or its paints opened, we cannot take it back, since it has become genuinely one of a kind at that point. Unpainted kits in original condition are returnable like anything else, and a kit that arrives damaged is covered either way.

What about made-to-order and personalized pieces?

Most of our heroes are made specifically for you after you order. For custom or personalized items we are not able to accept a return simply for a change of mind. Defects and shipping damage are always covered.

Can I exchange something?

We do not run exchanges as such. The quickest route is to return the original and place a new order for the one you want. If your item arrived damaged or wrong, do not do that. Just write to us and we will replace it.

When will I see my refund?

Once your return arrives and we have looked it over, we will let you know whether the refund is approved. If it is, it goes back to your original payment method, usually within 10 business days. Banks sometimes take a little longer to post it. If more than 15 business days have passed since we approved your refund and you still have not seen it, email hello@happiestlion.com and we will chase it.

The Free Orban Ring File

Do you sell digital files?

One, and it is free. The Coptic Orthodox Orban Ring is a print-it-yourself file for forming orban bread, made for parishes rather than for children. We drew it ourselves so that we could give it away cleanly.

What do I actually get, and how?

Two ring sizes as printable files, 7 inch and 8 inch. Add it to your cart, check out at no charge, and the download link arrives by email straight afterwards. It is on your order page too. Nothing ships, and you will need a 3D printer of your own.

Anything I should know before printing it?

Print it in a filament sold as food grade, and print it with solid walls so it holds its shape against pressed dough. Food-grade filament does not by itself make a printed ring a certified food-contact tool, and no filament changes the fact that layer lines are fine grooves that hold water and dough. Wash it by hand in cool water, dry it completely, never the dishwasher and never the oven, and print a fresh one whenever it starts to look tired. They cost almost nothing to replace, which is much of the point.

Can I share it?

Print it for yourself, for your family, and for your parish, as many as you like. Please do not resell it and please do not repost the file. If somebody else would like one, send them here and they can have it free the same way you did.

The Little Cross in Your Box

What is this small cross that came with my order?

That is a Redeemed Cross, and it is our favorite thing we make.

When we print your hero, there is always material left over. Instead of throwing it away, we reshape it into a small cross bookmark and tuck one into every order. Nothing is wasted in the Kingdom, and neither are you. Most people use theirs to mark their place in a Bible, which is exactly what we hoped for.

Your Information

What do you do with my information?

We collect what we need to make your hero and get it to you: your name, address, email, and payment details. Payment details go straight to our processor, and we never see your full card number.

We use it to make and ship your order, to answer you when you write, and to send news about new heroes if you asked for it. We do not build profiles on you, and we have no interest in trying.

Do you sell my information?

We would rather be straight with you about this than clever. We do not sell your details to anybody, and nobody buys them from us.

That said, like most online stores we use advertising and analytics tools, and some privacy laws count the data those tools receive as a "sale" or a "share" even when no money changes hands. You can switch that off any time on our data sharing opt-out page. Depending on where you live, browsing with Global Privacy Control turned on is treated as switching it off already. Our full Privacy Policy has the complete detail, and it is the document that governs.

Can I see what you have, or have it deleted?

Write to us and we will sort it out. We will not make it difficult, and we will not ask why. Depending on where you live you may also have rights to correct your information or to take a copy of it with you.

A few things we cannot simply erase, order and tax records we are required to keep being the usual example, and the Privacy Policy sets out where those limits fall and how to reach us about them.

What about children's information?

Our heroes are made for children. Our store is not. The store is not intended to be used by children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you are a parent or guardian and you think a child has given us theirs, email hello@happiestlion.com and we will delete it.

How do I stop the emails?

Every email we send has an unsubscribe link at the bottom, and one click is all it takes. We will still send you the practical ones about an order you have placed.

About Us

Who makes these?

A small, family-driven workshop in Tampa, Florida. Every hero is designed and made here, one at a time.

Why Bible and saint figures?

Because the greatest heroes ever known are found in Scripture and in the lives of the saints, and their stories deserve to be held, played with, dropped, painted badly, and passed down.

When are new heroes coming?

Often. Join our mailing list at the bottom of any page and you will hear about them first.

How do I reach a real person?

Email hello@happiestlion.com, or use the form on our contact page. We usually reply within 1 to 2 business days, and it is genuinely us reading it.
